    Peer Review of the Ukrainian Research and Innovation System – including Policy Recommendations

    A ‘Policy Support Facility’ (PSF) has been set up by the Directorate-General for Research & Innovation (DG RTD) of the European Commission under the European Framework Programme for Research & Innovation ‘Horizon 2020’, in order to support Member States and associated countries in reforming their national science, technology and innovation systems. The Peer Review of the Ukrainian Research and Innovation system was carried out between May and November 2016 by a dedicated PSF Panel, consisting of nine independent experts and national peers. The Ukrainian national authorities expressed a strong political commitment to this exercise.

    Ukrainian Government creates Coordination Centre for the implementation of Horizon 2020

    On 30 November 2016, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution to create a Coordination Centre to support the implementation of the current EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation in the country. 'The Coordinating Centre will provide fast and efficient solutions for problematic issues that arise during the implementation of projects under Horizon 2020, facilitate the consideration of the interests of the Ukrainian participants in the programme, and become a platform for the development of agreed positions and activities of the authorities', said Liliya Grinevich, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.

    Ukraine: Call for Applications for the 17th EU Study Days’ Session

    The Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine has announced a call for applications for the EU Study Days. The session will take place on 16-19 February in the city of Vinnytsia. Students and graduates from all Ukrainian regions will learn about the European Union and EU-Ukraine relations in fields of politics, economy, energy policy, mobility, education and human rights. Applications can be submitted online through a special questionnaire on the EU Delegation to Ukraine website before 27 January.

    Joint Russian-Austrian initiative research projects competition of the Russian Foundation for Basic research (RFBR) and Austrian Science Fund (FWF)

    Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), in accordance with the Memorandum on Cooperation with the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), announce a call for proposals for joint Russian-Austrian projects in basic research. The aim of the competition is to develop international cooperation and to grant financial support for initiative research projects being conducted by Russian and Austrian researchers.
