    New Analysis Report reveales tough Competition for Horizon 2020 Funds

    Winning a research grant from the European Commission is no 'easy money': The Horizon 2020 grant application success rate drops to 10.7 per cent, according to an analysis of the first 2 years of Horizon 2020. The chances of securing a grant are now around half what they were in FP7, Science|Business pointed out in an article yesterday. The EC's tone is more upbeat, laying the emphasis on the ever growing interest in EU research funding: In 2015 there was an increase in proposals by 25% compared to 2014, including a large number of first time participants and SMEs.

    Update on Statistics and Analyses of Ukrainian Participation in Horizon 2020

    Ukraine is really making the most of its association to Horizon 2020. After 274 concluded calls, Ukraine ranks 3rd among all Associated Countries, with 383 Ukrainian organisations participating in the preparation of 604 project proposals (808 participations), expecting an EC contribution of 236.95 M €. This is the result of the latest analytical report about Ukrainian participation in H2020, which has been published earlier this week by the RI-LINKS2UA project.

    This grant scheme financially supports the participation of local researchers from Black Sea countries in brokerage events related to Horizon2020 in the EU Member States or Associated Countries. Such events will allow researchers to network with EU consortia, to build-up partnerships for subsequent joint research activities and to make their institutions and/or their research networks better known.

    The new project  EaP PLUS (STI International Cooperation Network for EaP Countries Plus) aims to stimulate cooperation between researchers from the EaP countries and EU MS and enhance the active participation of the Eastern Partnership countries in Horizon 2020. With this Call for Tenders, the project is looking for an experienced expert from the field of STI cooperation with profound research strategy analysis capabilities, who will act as a Quality Control reviewer for a series of main Deliverables that will undergo a formal QC before their finalisation.

Their focus was on Energy, Environment and Health related projects.The result is a list of noteworthy deliverables from EU-Eastern Partnership cooperation projects, which are available to the public.
