    New: Update of incrEAST Country Reports 2016

    The incrEAST Country Reports are currently being updated. New data for Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are now online, updates for more countries are expected soon. The country reports for Armenia and Ukraine have already been updated in 2016. incrEAST Country Reports provide detailed information about the scientific landscape, research structure, STI policies and international cooperation activities of 12 countries in Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

    Ukraine joins the Euratom Research and Training Programme

    On 27 June 2016, the European Union and Ukraine have concluded an agreement on the association of Ukraine to the Euratom Research and Training Programme. The agreement was signed in Brussels by Carlos Moedas, European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, and Pavlo Klimkin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in the presence of Petro Poroshenko, President of Ukraine.

    NoGAP Final Conference – EU-EaP Cooperation for Knowledge Transfer in the Energy Sector

    NoGAP is an EU funded project that links partners from the EU and the Eastern Partnership region in a 'Knowledge Transfer Community to bridge the gap between research, innovation and business creation' in the energy sector. The project's Final Conference will take place from 27th to 28th July in Cluj Napoca, Romania. The event will present an overview of NoGAP activities, which included trainings for researchers, companies and multipliers as well as twinnings between EU and EaP countries, analytical work, and networking and brokerage events.

    Black Sea Horizon Webinar Series – 3 webinars announced

    In order to promote and enhance the participation of researchers from academia and industry from the Black Sea countries in Horizon 2020, the Black Sea Horizon project organises a series of 15 webinars. The 7th will take place on 28 June 2016 at 11 am CET and focus on 'Legal and financial issues of Horizon 2020'. The webinars in this series are free of charge and open to all.

    German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and Armenian State Committee of Science support R&D Cooperation Projects

    The Armenian State Committee of Science (SCS) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) have announced a funding measure for research and development projects with at least one German and one Armenian partner. Eligible thematic fields include bio-technologies / life sciences, material sciences, optical technologies, information and communication technologies, as well as environment protection techologies and sustainability research. Project outlines have to be submitted until 14 July 2016.

    EU-STRAT: The European Union and its Eastern Partner Countries – An Inside-Out Analysis and Strategic Assessment

    The EU-STRAT project started on 1 May 2016 and will continue until the end of April 2019. The main ambition of EU-STRAT is to provide an inside-out analysis and strategic assessment of the links between the EU and Eastern Partnership countries. EU-STRAT will address two main questions: First, why has the EU fallen short of creating peace, prosperity and stability in its Eastern neighbourhood? And second, what can be done to strengthen the EU’s transformative power in supporting political and economic change in the six Eastern Partnership countries?
