Moldova is awarded prize for outstanding achievements in the field of European Integration

The Awards were granted to ten distinguished personalities from the EU and to five BSCSIF member countries, who have achieved extraordinary success in the common interest areas of the Black and Caspian Sea regions such as: economic growth during the global financial crisis, innovative approach to economic development, peace and dialogue between civilizations, European integration, ecology and environmental protection.

Following the evaluation procedure of the results obtained during 2012, Moldova was awarded for outstanding achievements in the European integration process, especially for Association to the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Community for research, technological development and demonstration activities (2007-2013).

The prize was handed to the President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM), Acad. Gheorghe Duca, by Member of European Parliament, Mr. Adrian Severin. In his speech, the President of ASM reiterated the European Agenda of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the full involvement of Moldovan scientists in its achieving. At the same time, the President thanked the European partners and Member States of BSCSIF for openness and support in the European integration process of  Moldova.

2012 BSCSIF Awards were also granted to further distinguished personalities, as follows: Mr. Martin SCHULZ, the President of  the European Parliament,  Mr. Siim Kallas, Vice-President of  the European Commission, Mr. Štefan Füle,  EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy, Mr. Dacian Ciolos, EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Johannes Hahn, EU Commissioner for Regional Policy.
