The VSL provides an efficient way to search and access millions of full-text research articles. The website is accessible to faculty, students, researchers, laboratory technicians, and science and technology innovators working from their scientific institutions and universities.
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA), the Kyrgyzstan Virtual Science Library (VSL) is part of a larger program of technical consultations and trainings on, among other things, publishing in international journals and research proposal development, organized by the National Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Education and Science, DOE/NNSA, and CRDF Global. The goal of the Kyrgyzstan VSL Program is to improve the dissemination of scientific resources to research institutes and universities in Kyrgyzstan to meet the demand of Kyrgyzstan’s research community.
The virtual science library will provide access to more than 12.8 million research articles and over 16,500 journals in all fields of science and technology. Cooperation on this project started three years ago and is scheduled to be completed in September 2015.
