3rd EU-EECA Policy Stakeholders' Conference: 'Evaluation approaches in S&T; policy making'
After the successful Policy Stakeholders' Conferences in Athens and Moscow, the third event of this kind brought together high ranking experts and S&T; policy makers in Astana upon invitation of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies. This year's focus has been on evaluation approaches in S&T; policy making.
The Policy Stakeholders’ Conference 'Evaluation approaches in S&T policy making: sharing good practices', which was held in Astana on 26-27 May 2011 upon invitation of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, was the third of its kind. Decision makers and experts at ministerial level as well as key persons from research and science organisations in EU- and EECA-countries were invited to this exchange that meant to trigger new momentum for cooperation.
The agenda featured a number of current issues regarding bi-regional cooperation. A special focus was laid on analytical methods of policy advice such as the evaluation of research institutions, international benchmarking processes and the joint assessment of political strategies and concepts.
