    IQ-CHem 6th International Ideas Award

    IQ-CHem is the first and the only Idea Award in the Russian Federation in gas processing and petrochemistry established by SIBUR Holding in 2010.     'Ukraine Calling' – Training for Employees of German and International Organisations

    'Ukraine Calling' is aimed at managers in organisations from politics, media, government, business and civil society who want to improve their skills with regards to Ukraine.     The Polish government grants scholarships to young scientists for a research stay at Polish universities from September 2016 till June 2017.     The Decree of President of Belarus of 11.08.2005 № 367 "On improving the promotion of young researchers’ creative work " has established 100 scholarships of the President of the Republic of Belarus for talented young researchers, who work in organizations that perform research and development in the field of natural, engineering, social sciences and humanities. Scholarships are awarded for one calendar year. The size of a scholarship is approved by the President basing on a proposal of an Interdepartmental Commission specifically set up for these purposes.

    In the coming years, the University of Göttingen is able to assign a total of 226 international scholarships to scientists, students, and staff of universities in Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus region. This autumn, the university’s International Office took over the coordination of three international exchange programmes within the EU-funding line „Erasmus Mundus Action 2“. The application period for two of these programmes has now begun. It will be open until 15 March 2012.     The European Research Council (ERC) launched a new funding initiative, the “Proof of Concept”, that will contribute to stimulating innovation. Funding of up to EUR 150 000 per grant is made available to researchers already holding ERC grants to bridge the gap between their research and the earliest stage of a marketable innovation. By supporting outstanding research projects at the frontiers of knowledge, the ERC - the newest component of the 7th Research Framework Programme - already feeds into the EU’s Innovation Union.     Russian-German Call

    In December 2007, the International Bureau (IB) – on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) – and the Russian Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises (FASIE) concluded an agreement to jointly support future German-Russian cooperation projects. Following the successful first joint call in summer 2008, the two organizations now want to consolidate their partnership. To this end, they are publishing a second joint call for proposals. The call is mainly aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany and Russia that are active in the field of research.

    Call for Proposals: "Special Programme to support the next generation of historians in Russia, the Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus"

    In 2001, the Gerda Henkel Foundation established a sponsorship programme to support the up-and-coming generation of historians in Russia, the Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus. The aim of this special programme is to facilitate research projects which are concerned with the history of the young scholar’s own country. Furthermore, the programme is intended to encourage research making use of historical archive material. Preferably, the programme’s participants should cooperate with German historians who specialise in Eastern European studies, who will assume the role of mentors and maintain regular contact with the scholarship holders.
