From the Forschungszentrum Jülich, five institutes took part in the autumn school's programme: the Institute of Energy and Climate Research (IEK), the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (INM), the Nuclear Physics Institute (IKP), the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS) and the Centre for Engineering, Electronics and Analytics (ZEA). In addition to many lectures, the programme included practical exercises in the various laboratories. The students were thus given an insight into the daily work of the scientists and into the infrastructure at Forschungszentrum Jülich.
Forschungszentrum Jülich cooperates with institutions from Georgia since 1995. Since 2004, the joint activities have been running within the framework of the 'Georgian-German Science Bridge (GGSB)'. Forschungszentrum Jülich was among the founders. By now, regular joint workshops and research visits by Georgian scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich have become an integral part of this long-term cooperation.
