Horizon 2020 Information Day in Uzbekistan

On 7 February 2014 the Indo-Uzbek Center for the Promotion of Science and Technology Cooperation organised an Information Day on Horizon 2020 at the 'Dedeman Silk Road' hotel in Tashkent with the participation of the Сommittee for Coordination of Science and Technology Development under the Uzbek Cabinet of Ministers.
More than 50 scientists and researchers from Uzbek institutes and organisations participated in the event. EU experts from the Estonian Research Council Ms. Ülle Must (Head of the Department of International Research Cooperation) and Maria Habicht (NCP and H2020 Programme Committee member for Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy, and Smart, Green and Integrated Transport) presented the information on Horizon 2020, the new EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The presentations covered the full information on Horizon 2020, which is the most important programme for scientific-research development between the EU and third countries – including Uzbekistan.

The presentations covered Horizon 2020 structure, opportunities, partner search, financial issues,  and the event also left room for discussions on enhancing the cooperation between the scientists and researchers of Uzbekistan and the European Union.

The Information Day provided an opportunity to get the detailed information on participation possibilities in Horizon 2020, the Work Programmes for 2014-2015, and financial issues.
