Horizon 2020 Information Day & Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Workshop in Belarus

A 'Horizon 2020' Information Day with a focus on Health, Energy and Climate Change was held in Minsk, Belarus, on 24 February 2014. Over 380 participants represented academic research centers, innovative businesses, NGOs and related ministries.  They have been welcomed by Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus and Maira Mora, Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Belarus and got the first-hand information about the possibilities of cooperation in the new EU Programme for Research and Innovation and its novelties comparing to the previous 7th Framework Programme.
The presentation of opportunities have been mixed with success stories of Belarus FP7 partners who presented the whole spectrum of financial support instruments – from collaborative projects and support actions to infrastructure coordination projects and international staff exchange schemes – and demonstrated the benefit and value of the EU-supported partnerships for their teams and organisations.

On the 25 February, a special training workshop for in-depth presentation of one of the most successful parts of the Framework Programmes - Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions was held. It has collected ar 60 participants. Many of them take part in the FP7 IRSES projects and are involved currently in new proposals development. Thus, the training which was delivered by Dr Gabriela Chira, REA, European Commission and Olga Meerovskaya, MSCA National Contact Point was perfectly in time to answer their questions.

Both events have been organised by the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support of S&T Sphere, IncoNet EaP partner in Belarus with the support of the EU Delegation to Belarus.
